Terms

Terms of use

The terms on which you may use the Lafuente Family Education Trust's website and apply for funding through it.

About these terms

This website is run by the trustees of the Lafuente Family Education Trust (“the Trust”, “we”, “us”). By using this site, creating an account, or submitting an application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the site.

These terms sit alongside our privacy notice, which is linked at the foot of every page and explains what personal information we collect and how we look after it.

What this site is for

The Lafuente Family Education Trust provides funding towards the education of the lineal descendants of its founder. This site explains who the Trust is for and how to apply, and gives applicants a place to make and follow an application. It is not a bank, a lender, or a financial adviser, and nothing on it is financial or legal advice.

Who may use this site

Anyone may read the public pages. Accounts and applications are for people who believe they are eligible for the Trust’s support, and for the trustees who administer it.

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must confirm your application before it can be submitted. We ask for their name and email address so that we can contact them to do so.

Your account

Choose a password you do not use anywhere else, keep it to yourself, and do not let anyone else use your account. You are responsible for what is done through it.

If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us at support@lafuenteeducationtrust.org as soon as you can and change your password.

Information you give us

The information you give us must be true, accurate, and your own. We assess applications on what you tell us and the documents you upload, so information that is false, or that belongs to someone else, may lead to an application being refused and an account being closed.

Only upload documents you have the right to share. We use what you send us to consider your application, to arrange and record any funding, and to keep the Trust’s records — and for nothing else.

Applying is not a promise of funding

Submitting an application does not entitle you to money from the Trust. The trustees decide which applications to fund, in what amount, and on what conditions, in accordance with the trust deed. A decision on one application does not commit the trustees on any other, and support in one term does not guarantee support in the next.

Things you must not do

When using this site, please do not:

  • Try to reach any part of the site, or any record, you are not entitled to see;
  • Interfere with how the site works, or with its security;
  • Use automated means to collect information from the site, or to create accounts or submit applications;
  • Use the site, or the contact form, to send anything unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful, including unsolicited bulk messages; or
  • Copy or republish the site’s pages elsewhere, other than as described below.

The site’s own content

The text, images, and design of this site belong to the Trust or are used with permission. You are welcome to read and print pages for your own use in connection with an application. Where we publish a graduate’s story, it is published with their permission and remains theirs; please do not reproduce it elsewhere.

Suspending or closing an account

We may suspend or close an account where these terms have been broken in a serious or repeated way, where we are required to by law, or where keeping it open would create a real risk of harm to someone. Wherever we reasonably can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

If you think we have got it wrong, write to us at info@lafuenteeducationtrust.org and a trustee will look at it again.

Changes to the site and to these terms

We may change, add to, or withdraw parts of this site as the Trust’s needs change. We may also update these terms — for example, if the application process changes or the law requires it. When we make a material change we update the version shown at the foot of this page.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to websites the Trust does not run, such as a school’s own pages or a government financial-aid site. We link to them because we think they are useful, but we are not responsible for them and they have their own terms and privacy practices.

If something goes wrong

We provide this site as it is and as it is available. The trustees maintain it with care, but we cannot promise it will always be available, or free of errors or interruptions.

So far as the law allows, the Trust and its trustees are not responsible for loss you suffer through using this site. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.

If part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest of them still apply.

How to contact us

If you have a question about these terms, contact the trustees of the Lafuente Family Education Trust at info@lafuenteeducationtrust.org.
